Paxil & paxil side effects

Paxil withdrawl. M Topic: Drugs Subject: Paxil Withdrawl From ToPostMichelle10 19 1999.I was put on Paxil 5 months ago for postpartem depression. It worked great! I've been weaning off it for about a month and a half now and having a terrible time. Like the others in this forum, I'm experiencing dizziness, nausia, headaches (all day, every day), but what I haven't heard from anyone is numbing. I've been experiencing occassional numbing in my hands and feet. Is this a possible symptom of withdrawl from this drug? I've talked to both the prescribing doctor (my gynocologist) and my medical doctor, and both say that none of these symptoms are a result of Paxil. My research via the internet has told me something just the opposite. I'm currently cutting my doses into 4ths and taking just 5 mg. a day. I'm still experiencing these miserable effects. It's pretty difficult to deal with when I work full time and take care of two young children (2 1 2 yrs. and 5 months). Could the numbing be from Paxil? And, is th paxil withdrawl

Experiences with paxil: re: any help for paxil withdrawl?

Ere anything I can do to reduce these terrible side effects? How long do the side effects usually last? I've already asked both of my doctors and they both deny that Paxil is the cause, but have no other answers as to what the problems are from.SA, M.D. - HVMA10 21 1999MichelleWithout examining you in person, I cannot determine the cause of the numbing. Many individuals experience a wide variety of physical symptoms when discontinuing Paxil (paroxetine). When gradual discontuation doesn't help, I have found that switching people over to longer-acting SSRIs like fluoxetine often takes care of the problem. Consulting a local psychopharmacologist sounds like a good idea. Good luck! Effing stroke. I suspected it was something to do with the drugs so I went online and found this message board in a search and discovered what was happening. Today the whooshes and jolts are not as strong, although still there and I am tired. I did 20 mg of Paxil for 5 months and 10 mg for 10 days. I stopped 6 days ago. How long should these effects last? I wish I had paid the extra for the Lexapro. I have been through hell the last 6 months and I finally thought it was over (by the way, the combination therapy has worked so far, my viral load count of Hep C is undetectable, thank God) Will I ever get back to normal? I appreciate any input and experience. thank You, Michael Password: Responses To This Message Re: paxil withdrawl (views: 843)Barry -- Monday, 15 November 2004, at 3:58 p.m. Post Response Username: Your E-Mail Address: Subject: Message: > Hi, > I was diagnosed with HepatitisC and I chose > to do combination Peg-interferon and Rebetol > to try to eradicate the virus.
